Ontario Research Fund – Information Session

The Ontario Ministry of Research & Innovation will be holding an information session at Western for the Ontario Research Fund – Research Excellence Round 4.

 

This session will provide an opportunity for the Ministry to present a brief overview of the new round of competition, share best practices and answer questions from the research community.

Killam Research Fellowships – Canada Council for the Arts

The Killam Research Fellowships are awarded annually, on a competitive basis, to support scholars doing research in
any of the following fields: humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, health sciences, engineering, studies linking any of the disciplines within these fields.

Deadlines:  
Faculty of Education Associate Dean’s Office: May 1, 2009 (2-3 weeks earlier if you wish feedback on your application – submit to Karen Kueneman)
Research Development & Services: May 8, 2009
Canada Council: May 15, 2009

Value: 2 full years of release time. The awards are valued at $70,000 per year.

Description: The Killam Research Fellowship Program is designed to recognize and support distinguished Canadian scholars, normally full professors at Canadian universities and research institutes, who have established an outstanding reputation in their area of research.

Eligibility:  Killam Research Fellowships are intended for established scholars who have demonstrated outstanding research ability and who have published the results of their research in substantial publications in their field. Typically, the recipient of a Killam Research Fellowship is a full professor in a Canadian university. Applicants must be eligible to hold a research grant at UWO.

Full Applications are to be processed through Research Development & Services  and are to be accompanied by a completed RDAF form (bearing applicant and Assoc Dean signatures).

Applications: There are no hard copy application forms: applicants must submit their requests through the Canada Council’s online application system (killam.canadacouncil.ca). To gain access to the Internet form, applicants must send an email to the Killam Program (to killam@canadacouncil.ca) requesting a user name, password and personal identification number (PIN).
