The American Educational Research Association’s Outstanding Book Award was established to acknowledge and honor the year’s best book-length publication in education research and development. To be considered for the 2011 award, a book must be concerned with the improvement of the educational process through research or scholarly inquiry, must have a research base, and must have a 2009 or 2010 copyright date. Books published in 2009 that were nominated for the 2010 award may be renominated for consideration this year. Edited volumes will not be considered.
Deadline: Oct 14, 2010
Eligibility: Nominations may be submitted by the author of the work, by another scholar, or by the publisher of the work. The book may have been published anywhere in the world but, for purposes of consideration, must be available in English.
The nominator must submit (a) eight copies of a 1- to 2-page letter detailing the contribution of the book and the basis for the nomination, and (b) eight copies of the book being nominated. The submission deadline is October 14, 2010.
