Western Applied Research and Commercialization (ARC) Fund

The Western Applied Research and Commercialization awards are made from funds provided by the Federal Development Agency for Southwestern Ontario, and administered by the Office of the Vice-President (Research and International Relations). They are intended to support the cost of collaborative projects undertaken in partnership with a Small/Medium Enterprise (SME) that will help move innovative products based on existing/proposed collaboration partnerships.  The competition is for one-time projects based on existing/proposed collaboration partnerships. Applicants can only receive one grant per project. WORLDiscoveries™ personnel are available for consultation on issues related to intellectual property and commercialization.

Report of Invention due December 8, 2010 to WORLDiscoveries™
Application due December 16, 2010 to Research Development & Services

Amount: Funding of up to $50,000 per project is available  -the SME must match at least 1/3 of the requested amount (in cash or in-kind)

Eligibility: A PI must hold an academic appointment with a significant research component at The University of Western Ontario at the time of the application. In order to be named as PI on an internal grant, the applicant must be eligible to hold a research account at Western.
