Faculty of Education – Internal Travel Competition

The Faculty of Education announces a request for proposals for its Internal Conference Travel program.

Deadline: March 1, 2012, 4:00 p.m. (for a decision by April 1, 2012)

Amount: Expenses for conference trips may be reimbursed to a maximum of $3,700 for tenured and probationary faculty members per fiscal year (i.e., May 1 – April 30) for attending up to two conferences.  Pending availability of funds, faculty members may apply to attend:

1) an international conference (maximum $2500); and/or

2) a local (in Canada) or international conference ($1200) in each fiscal year.

If funds are available, the committee may consider requests in excess of $2,500 for travel to more expensive international conferences.

Description: The purpose of these conference travel funds is to help to support the research function of the Faculty.  These funds are intended to support faculty members in their research by providing the opportunity to attend conferences to present their research work and to benefit from interactions with other researchers.

Eligibility: The fund is restricted to faculty members within the Faculty of Education. Retired, part-time or seconded faculty are not eligible to apply.

NOTES: For this competition the conference must occur after May 1, 2012. Faculty members must be presenting a paper at the conference.
