CIHR – Common CV Problems

The Common CV (CCV) Renewal has been up and running for just over one week (as of Friday July 6).  Unfortunately, despite CIHR’s best efforts, they are encountering a number of issues.  They are doing their best to address them:

  1. 1.       Slow Performance

Slow processing is related to the amount of data validation that has to be done to make sure that the CV meets the agencies’ validation rules. They hope to implement a solution next week.

  1. 2.      Defect in the PubMed Interface

–          When retrieving PubMed publications, the first author information is being deleted from the results. They hope to fix this in the next few days.

  1. 3.      Lack of Ordering in the Records

Users have been unhappy with the lack of consistent ordering of records in the various templates.  They will shortly enhance the system to allow users to sort their data on any chosen column and to save the information in that order. On re-entry or when generating PDFs the sort order will be preserved.

CIHR understands users’ frustrations with the problems they have encountered and thank them for their continued patience.

    Additional problems include:a) webinar connection that fails, thus no access to potential problem solving information b) lack of detail information on any help point indicated by (?)- only states the obvious c) lengthy response time ( days) to voice mail for trouble shooting and d) improper transfer of salutation information for women.
