SSHRC Insight Development Grant

The application and  instructions for the SSHRC Insight Development Grant are now available on the SSHRC site.

Value: $7,000 up to $75,000 over 1-2 years

Deadlines:
January 11, 2013: Draft of proposal due – the Research Office will facilitate an internal peer review if you meet this deadline
January 23, 2013:
Faculty of Education – full proposal
January 25, 2013 (tentative): Research Development & Services Internal Deadline
Janurary 25, 2013 (tentative): Peer Review Form for Reapplication assistance
February 1, 2013 – 2 pm: SSHRC Deadline

Description:Insight Development Grants support research in its initial stages.The grants enable the development of new research questions, as well as experimentation with new methods, theoretical approaches and/or ideas. Funding is provided for short-term research development projects, of up to two years, proposed by individuals or teams.

Eligibility: Both emerging and regular scholars who are affiliated with an eligible Canadian post-secondary institution are eligible to apply. A Principal Investigator (PI) must be eligible to hold a research account.

Please note that for the current competition at least 50 per cent of funds will be reserved for applications from emerging scholars.

NOTE Regarding Applications: For the 2013 competition all applications will be submitted using the new Grants Management System. The Canadian Common CV (CCV) will also be used in place of the former SSHRC CV. Please allow more time for completion of the CCV for yourself and your co-applicants/ collaborators. Full Applications are to be processed through Research Development & Services  and are to be accompanied by a completed ROLA.
