Western’s Revised Internal Funding Programs – Bridge Grants

The Social Science and Humanities Research Board’s (SSHRB) Bridge Research Grant is targeted to established researchers who no longer hold an external SSHRC grantIn the past year (i.e. within one year prior this grant’s competition deadline), researchers must have held a SSHRC grant and must have submitted to an external SSHRC competition. (Revised March 27/13).

The purpose of this funding is to address specific deficiencies in the most recent grant submission, as highlighted in referee reports (such as HQP training, publication rate, generation of preliminary data, etc.), and increase the likelihood of success in subsequent grant competitions.

Deadlines:
Faculty of Education Research Office: April 15, 2013 (2-3 weeks prior if you wish to have extensive feedback on your application. Contact Karen Kueneman.)
Research Development & Services: April 30, 2013 (results available by June 30)

Amount: up to $25,000 for 1 year

Eligibility: The applicant must be eligible to hold a grant at Western and in the past year (i.e. within one year prior this grant’s competition deadline), researchers must have held a SSHRC grant and must have submitted to an external SSHRC competition.

Conditions: Successful applicants must submit an external SSHRC grant application within two years of the beginning of the initial award.
