The Royal Society of Canada, the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities, and the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research are sponsoring a symposium
Brain Plasticity, Learning and Education
June 14 to 16
The University of Western Ontario
For details, see http://www.uwo.ca/bmi/brainplasticity/#june14-16
The meeting will open with registration and a social gathering on Friday evening June 14, followed by two days of talks on Saturday and Sunday June 15 and 16 by leading researchers from Canada and Israel who will discuss the latest insights into human brain plasticity and learning – and the implications of this research for educational practice and policy. Research into basic mechanisms of neural plasticity right through to learning and development will be discussed. The insights into the developing, plastic brain from these multiple levels of analyses are not only informing educators and policy makers, but are also opening up new avenues of research.
On Saturday June 15th there will be a poster session in which researchers and their trainees will be invited to present posters on work related to the themes of the symposium.
