Value: $7,000 up to $75,000 over 1-2 years
January 10, 2014: Draft of proposal due – the Faculty of Education Research Office will facilitate an internal peer review if you meet this deadline
January 20: Research Development & Services – for Optional Review by that office (see attached for RD&S deadlines and information on reviews by that office)
January 22, 2014: Faculty of Education – full proposal
January 27, 2014 – 5 pm: Research Development & Services Internal Deadline
February 3, 2014 – 2 pm: SSHRC Deadline
Description:Insight Development Grants support research in its initial stages.The grants enable the development of new research questions, as well as experimentation with new methods, theoretical approaches and/or ideas. Funding is provided for short-term research development projects, of up to two years, proposed by individuals or teams.
Eligibility: Both emerging and regular scholars who are affiliated with an eligible Canadian post-secondary institution are eligible to apply. A Principal Investigator (PI) must be eligible to hold a research account.
Please note that for the current competition at least 50 per cent of funds will be reserved for applications from emerging scholars.
NOTE Regarding Applications: For the 2014 competition all applications will be submitted using the new Research Portal. The Canadian Common CV (CCV) will also be used in place of the former SSHRC CV. If you have not previously used the CCV you are strongly advised to allow plenty of time for completion of the CCV for yourself and your co-applicants/ collaborators.
