The Order of Ontario recognizes any current or former long-time resident of Ontario who has demonstrated a high level of individual excellence and achievement, in any field, benefiting the people of Ontario or anywhere in the world. The Royal Society of Canada (RSC) Medals and Awards have a variety of prestigious medals and awards recognizing outstanding achievements of Canadian researchers. There are 5 awards offered in 2015 for science and engineering, and two in arts and humanities. The nomination deadline is March 1, 2014.

The College of New Scholars, Artists, and Scientists in the Royal Society of Canada (RSC) consists of researchers who have demonstrated a high level of achievement early in their careers. Membership terms are seven years. Nominators must be Members of the College or Fellows of the RSC. Nominees must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents within 15 years of the conferral of their PhD or equivalent (January 1, 2000 or later). The nomination deadline is March 9, 2014.
