Phoenix Fellowship

Associated Medical Services (AMS) is pleased to announce that proposals (Letters of Intent) are now being accepted for the 2016 AMS Phoenix Fellowship Awards. The AMS Phoenix Project is designed to identify and shape structures that enhance the teaching and practice of compassionate care across health care settings, with a goal to raise awareness that how care is delivered (the process) is just as important as what care is delivered (the content).

Grants Program

The Anesthesia Patient Safety Foundation (APSF) Grant Program supports research directed towards enhancing anesthesia patient safety. Its major objective is to stimulate and fund studies that will clearly improve patient safety and lead to prevention of mortality and morbidity resulting from anesthesia mishaps.

Arnold P. Gold Research Institute
Research Planning Grants

The Foundation’s will consider requests to fund in-person meetings of multi-institutional research teams to plan and write grants to submit to other funders for projects larger in scope than the Gold Foundation can support.

Military Infectious Diseases Research Program

The JPC-2/MIDRP supports research and development leading to the fielding of effective, improved means of bacterial, parasitic and viral infection prevention, screening, diagnosis, and treatment to maintain maximal global operational capability with minimal morbidity and mortality.  JPC-2/MIDRP’s DHA-aligned mission is focused on polytrauma and blast injury, with a DHP core research program emphasizing wound infection prevention and management, as well as antimicrobial countermeasures.

Fund for Research in Clinical Assessment

The purpose and priorities of the 2016 competition are the encouragement of innovations in the assessment of clinical competence or performance of students, postgraduate trainees or practitioners. Priority will be given to proposals that show promise in contributing to the knowledge and understanding of measurement in clinical assessment and to clinical program evaluation methods for medical education. The proposal must focus on research, not development, in the assessment of performance or clinical assessment.
